works Philosophy of boxing

It’s more than just strength
It’s more than just fitness
It’s more than just fighting
It’s more than just hitting
It’s more than just conditioning

The ‘Art of Boxing’ is an ancient form of fighting that underpins the most basic and raw form of unarmed combat. It removes the use of any implement or tool, essentially weaponizing the body, using the knuckles as the end point of power transfer. It’s cultural impact profoundly neutralised the social status, firstly by being accessibly to all, and equally important, basing it upon skill.

Considering how long people have been using their fists to fight, it is surprising that so few people look to understand the dynamic components that are needed to form together to ensure proficiency and effectiveness are formulated

We believe our boxing philosophy is grounded and routed in securely establishing the core fundamentals;

Footwork Feet to Hips
Core Work Abs, Obliques etc
Upper Body Chest, Shoulders, Arms
Head Movement Neck and Head
Boxing IQ Brain/Intelligence
Breathing Efficiency, Recovery
Form and Fitness Technique, Conditioning

Footwork
Like many things in life, it is imperative to start from the ground up, thus starting by building solid and fluid footwork. Footwork is the propellent and ballast for all forms of movement in boxing. Developing good solid and fluid footwork is crucial. The most powerful punch is useless if you can’t move within range for it to reach its target.

Core Work
Without a solid core the transference of power generated from the ground work dissipates and dissolves, rendering the boxer ineffective. A solid core couples the power and holds tight the body between states of rigidity and fluidity.

Upper Body
Strength and power are unleashed through the shoulders and arms. Building efficient transference of power through these parts of the body in the quickest and most direct path. Using essentially the six basic punches (jab, straight, left hook, right hook, left upper cut, right upper cut) in the most efficient and devastating effective way.

Head Movement
As always, a moving target is always harder to hit…..

Boxing IQ
The battle is won and lost in the mind. Positive mentality allows for ring intelligence to be established, leading fighters to assess when to engage in Proactive and/or Reactive work flows. Perceptual and Ring awareness are key components in all elite fighters’ arsenal.

Breathing
Lung capacity, breathing techniques and recovery breathing essentially. Active recovery, when and how breath in a more controlled manner that supports active recovery, replenishing the oxygen deficit.

Form and Fitness
All parts are addressed in every session; however, certain aspects are be focused in a modular approach enabling pertinent aspects to be highlighted specific to an individual.

The ‘Secret’ ingredient
Synergy – cohesion of body mechanics and boxing IQ – building rhythm

This is about Dedication
This is about Tenacity
This is about Control
This is about Resilience and Spirit
This is about Persistence

This is about personalising an approach that formulates a mixture a science, body mechanics and core boxing principles, whilst adding to it a healthy dash of artistic flair. All elements combined are dynamically portioned to individually target someone’s existing state of being, allowing them to grow, develop and ultimately project out their better self.

My own accomplishments mean something to me personally, however others are more drawn to valuing the importance of the journey, passion, perseverance and dedication needed to achieve. Those ideals are what people relate to, and ultimately desire to emulate.

The art of self-development using boxing as a medium is something that has supported my transformative journey into who I am and what I represent. Life lessons are learnt in the hard grind of perfecting the art of boxing. The repetitive practice establishes the all-important hard wiring of muscle memory, allowing space and time for creativity and critical thinking. There is no supplement for hard work, repetition and practicing of skills, building strength and conditioning the body to adapt and improve….

Begin the journey and transform yourself!
